Nodal Light
This lamp is a tribute to humans first technology, fire. The aesthetics of the lamp are a representation of what we think of when hearing the word “technology”, hyper engineered electronical devices. By having this historical link of human technology I’m hoping to evoke a sense of wonder and amazement about how far we’ve come from our natural state, butt naked in the woods. The only way to turn on the lamp is by being able to provide it with the most primitive source of light. This action symbolizes the kickstart of human development and it ultimately bringing us to a world where it’s possible to actually turn on this lamp.
